Write a Self-Care List
Self Care has been described in the Surrendered Wife as a marriage-saving tool. We will only by the calm and centred souls that our husbands desire and warm to, if we are looked after, happy, relaxed and contented in ourselves.
Most women are so bogged down with housework, they haven't got a clue what they like to do, and have perhaps forgotten or never learnt how to have fun. What Laura Doyle suggests is that you make two lists:
- 10 things you like to do: (read: FUN) - e.g. Going for a ramble in the woods,Sitting by a lake,Getting a hair cut,Manicure / Massage
- 10 things that make you feel better: (but are not necessarily fun) - e.g. Clearing our your cupboard,Getting your legs waxed,Sweeping the back garden/yard,A 27 Fling-Boogie ala FlyLady!
And then, choose any three, from either list every day.
