When one person is physically abusing someone else, both parties are to blame.
The Abuser is a perpetrator - as he/she has no right to exert violence on another
The Victim is a perpetrator - as he/she has the duty to protect the body they inhabit - strike back, retaliate, leave, get help, call the police. They must not under any circumstances accept the violence, as this will be saying that "it is okay for you do this, I allow you."
